Sarah Ann Stowell, (Jerusha C., Squire, Gershom, Seth, John, Seth). Born in Broome Co., N.Y., Dec. 1, 1823 and died at Yorktown, Ill.; Nov. 27, 1861. She was left an orphan in 1838 and went with her grand parents, Squire and Sally Pope, to Lee Co., Iowa, in 1839. Here she married in 1841, Lewis Clark Pope, son of S.S Pope, (b. in Swithzerland Co., Ind., Sep. 30,1818, and died in Burlington, Kansas, in July, 1896).
Children.
i. Squire Stowell Pope, b, June 22, 1842 and died Dec. 25 1843 in Van Buren Co., Iowa
ii. Mary Jerusha Pope, B. Jan. 23, 1848 in Van Buren Co., and now lives at Jacksonville, Fla. She married Edward Ware and has two children, William and Eva Ware.
III. Sarah Charlotte pope, b. June 28, 1847 in Van Buren Co. She married -- Clark and lives at Waverly, KS.
iv. Slice Lovina Pope, b. Feb, 9 1851 at Prophetstown, ILL.; m. Nov.3, 1876, John J. Gladman, son of Wm. and Mary (Betts) Bladman b. July 31, 1850, in Lawrence Co., Ohio, and d. Oct. 8, 1915 at Geneseo, Ill.)Son, --Rowy e. Gladman. Address Cresco, Iowa.
